2. How does NFC work with my payment ring?
The Monesave Payment Ring uses NFC technology to transmit payment information to compatible terminals when you tap it against the payment reader. This allows for a fast and secure transaction.
3. Is NFC technology secure?
Yes, NFC technology is secure. It uses encryption and tokenization to protect your payment details. Transactions are only processed when the ring is placed near a compatible terminal, ensuring additional security.
4. How far does NFC work?
NFC works over very short distances, usually within 4 cm (1.5 inches). This minimizes the risk of unauthorized transactions, as the ring needs to be physically close to the terminal.
5. Can NFC be hacked?
While no technology is completely risk-free, NFC technology is highly secure. The information transmitted is encrypted, and transactions are only initiated when the ring is in close proximity to a terminal.
6. Does NFC work without an internet connection?
Yes, NFC payments do not require an internet connection. The transaction is processed using the NFC reader at the terminal, and your account is updated through the Monesave app later, when connected to the internet.
7. Is NFC technology compatible with all payment terminals?
NFC is widely adopted in payment terminals. Most modern terminals support NFC technology, but if you encounter one that does not, you will need to use an alternative payment method.
8. Can I use my NFC payment ring for transit fares?
Yes, as long as the transit system supports NFC payments, you can use your Monesave Payment Ring to pay for fares in participating locations.
9. How do I know if a terminal accepts NFC payments?
Look for the contactless payment symbol on the terminal. Itâs usually a wave-like icon, indicating that the terminal supports NFC payments. Monesave Payment Rings are mastercard approved therefor it acepted at over 100 countries globally.
10. Does NFC work in airports and hotels?
Yes, many airports and hotels that accept contactless payments are compatible with NFC technology, allowing you to use your Monesave Payment Ring to pay for services directly.
Security of Monesave Payment Rings
1. Is my Monesave Payment Ring secure?
Yes, Monesave Payment Rings are designed with high-level security features. They use encrypted NFC communication and tokenization to protect your payment data from theft or fraud.
2. How can I protect my Monesave Payment Ring from unauthorized use?
You can enable multi-factor authentication (MFA) for added security. Additionally, you can lock your ring through the Monesave app if youâre not using it frequently.
3. What should I do if my Monesave Payment Ring is lost or stolen?
If your ring is lost or stolen, immediately report it to Monesave customer support. We can deactivate the ring and protect your account from unauthorized transactions.
4. How do I keep my account secure?
Regularly update your password, enable two-factor authentication, and monitor your account for any suspicious activity. You should also ensure that your phone or device used with the Monesave app is secure.
5. Can someone steal my payment information by scanning my ring?
No. NFC payments are designed with security in mind. The information transmitted is encrypted and unique to each transaction. A person cannot access your payment information unless they have the physical ring in close proximity to a terminal.
6. Does Monesave store my payment information?
Monesave does not store sensitive payment data. Instead, we use tokenization to create a unique identifier for each transaction, ensuring that your data remains private and secure.
7. Can I deactivate my ring?
Yes, you can lock or deactivate your ring through the Monesave app at any time for added security.
8. Is my information secure on the Monesave app?
Yes, the Monesave app uses industry-standard security measures, including encryption and secure authentication, to protect your personal and financial data.
9. What should I do if I notice fraudulent activity on my account?
Immediately contact Monesave customer support to report any unauthorized transactions. We will assist you in securing your account and investigating the issue.
10. Can I enable a PIN or password for my Monesave Payment Ring?
Currently, Monesave Payment Rings do not have a PIN feature. However, you can secure your account through the Monesave app using multi-factor authentication (MFA).
Fees
1. What fees do I pay for using Monesave Payment Rings?
There are fees associated with loading funds onto your ring, withdrawing funds, and currency conversion. Please refer to the Fees section of our Website for the latest information. Fees allow us continue to keep the App running to protect our users. Beware of any Apps claiming to be "Free". As they say, if anything is free, you or your data are paying for that service!
2. Are there fees for making payments with my Monesave Payment Ring?
No, there are no transaction fees for making payments at participating retailers with your Monesave Payment Ring. However, your bank or payment processor may charge fees depending on their policies.
3. How can I top up my Ring
Monesave is a fintech app and not a bank. You can top up your Ring with Debit or Credit Cards, with Bank transfers or with regular top ups via the app so you dont even have to worry about taking your wallets or phone with you.
4. Are there any hidden fees?
No, all fees are clearly disclosed upfront. Please refer to our fees page for a full breakdown of charges related to using Monesave services.
5. Are there fees for transferring money between accounts?
Transfers between users (M2M) are free. However, if you convert funds between currencies, a 0.5% fee will apply.
6. Are there fees for withdrawing funds from my account?
Yes, there is a 1% withdrawal fee when you transfer funds from your Monesave account to your bank account or other payment methods.
7. How are fees calculated for businesses receiving payments?
Businesses are charged a 0.5% fee on incoming payments. This is in addition to any fees from payment processors.
8. Are there any fees for international transfers?
Yes, international transfers may incur additional fees depending on the countries involved and the payment processors used.
9. How do I know what fees I will be charged?
All fees are clearly outlined in our terms and conditions and on the fees page of our website. You can also view the fees in the app before completing any transactions.
10. Does Monesave charge any subscription fees?
No, Monesave does not charge any subscription fees for using our services. You only pay transaction-based fees, which are clearly stated on our website. But we do not suppot payment of ongoing subcription fees!
Security Awareness
1. How can I protect my NFC Payment Ring in public?
Always be mindful of your surroundings. Keep your ring close to your body, avoid showing it in crowded places, and tap only on trusted NFC terminals. Monesave protects our users by placing the sensors or strategic places which makes it more difficult for thieves. Contact us on the app for more information on this.
2. Can I disable my payment ring when not in use?
Yes, you can lock your payment ring using the Monesave app, which will prevent it from being used until you unlock it again.
3. What should I do if my ring is lost or stolen?
If your ring is lost or stolen, contact Monesave support immediately to deactivate it and secure your account. It is worth nothing that Thieves are less likely to steal your Ring compared to a wallet or phone or watch.
4. How do I stay secure when using my ring in public?
Always check that youâre tapping your ring only on legitimate payment terminals. Be cautious of strangers standing too close to you when making payments.
5. What is tokenization, and how does it help protect my information?
Tokenization is a security process where sensitive payment data is replaced with a unique identifier, making it useless to hackers even if intercepted during a transaction.
6. Should I enable multi-factor authentication for my account?
Yes, enabling multi-factor authentication adds an extra layer of security to your account and protects your funds from unauthorized access.
7. Is my phone or device safe for using the Monesave app?
